Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 05 (ANI): The Union government may have made right to education a fundamental right by bringing into force the Right To Education (RTE) Act of 2009, but government schools are lagging far behind in providing quality education. In year 2017, in the month of June, rainfall followed by strong wind damaged the roof top of a Government Primary School of Udhampur district. The storm destroyed the pillars of the school as well. Since that day the students had become shelter less and are compelled to sit in front of damaged school building under the open sky. The girl students are worst suffers of the aforementioned devastation. The strength of girls is higher than boys. From last one and half year the future of over 42 students of said school is in darkness as they don’t have proper place for their classes. Neither district administration nor MLA concerned and Education department has taken any initiative to repair the school building yet.
