Srinagar hosts one of its kind 2-week stone carving camp

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 11 (ANI): A one of its kind stone carving camp was setup in Kashmir valley for the revival of the age old art. The two-week-long camp was organised by North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi from October 2 to 16, 2018. Kashmir has a rich cultural and traditional history, stone carving being one of them. The camp also served the purpose of creating awareness amongst young generation about the art. During the camp, renowned sculptors from across the country including Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh participated. Artists showcased their art at the camp. The theme of the camp was based on the subject of music and sculptors were asked by authorities to make their objects on musical instrument.
