Patiala (Punjab), Oct 11 (ANI): Despite norms and hazardous outcomes of stubble burning in Punjab, the farmers are continuing the practice as they feel that there are no other alternative. “We have no alternative. The government has not even waived off our loans. Does only stubble burning cause pollution and not crackers and celebrations during Dushhera and Diwali?” said a farmer. Farmers burn paddy stubble to clear their fields ahead of the wheat sowing season every year and has a major role in causing air pollution that blankets Delhi and neighbouring regions during the season.
