A religious blaze stoked and flared by religious fundamentalists has forced the lawyer of Asia Bibi, Saiful Mulook, who defended her from getting prosecuted on blasphemy charges, to flee from Pakistan and take asylum in the Netherlands; Activists from Gilgit Baltistan carried out a protest in capital Islamabad and demanded the reinstatement of a police officer from ghizer district of occupied Gilgit Baltistan. The policeman was earlier suspended for a facebook comment he allegedly made against Pakistan’s opposition party, the PML (N); Sri Lanka where political crisis has deepened. Since being fired, ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has remained holed up in the prime ministerial residence while also demanding a parliamentary vote to prove his majority; India’s Manipur state where the indigenous people celebrated ‘Chavang Kut’ festival. The festival which was jointly celebrated by 22 tribes of the state has now gained immense popularity among the people irrespective of caste and religious diversifications.
