96-year-old Karthiyani Amma tops Kerala’s literacy exam

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Nov 01 (ANI): 96-year-old Karthiyani Amma has topped Kerala’s literacy exam by scoring 98 out of 100 marks. Like it is said, there is no age for education, Amma has not only adhered to it she has made a new record. Amma has passed the ‘Aksharalaksham’ literacy exam under Kerala State Literacy Mission. She was felicitated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today at a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s conference hall. She was also given a certificate for achieving such feat. Aksharalaksham is a literacy exam in which reading, writing and basic mathematical skills are tested. A total of 43,330 candidates appeared for the exam out of which 42,933 cleared the exam.
