Gulmarg (Jammu and Kashmir), Nov 11 (ANI): A-day-long cultural festival ‘Mannat-e-Aman’ or pray for peace was organised by Army with support from local musicians at Baba Reshi Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg. In this unique initiative, people from neighboring areas of Baba Reshi joined hands with the Army to celebrate the heritage of synergistic traditions in Kashmir. The shrine of revered Sufi Saint Payam-ud-Din, popularly known as Baba Reshi, provided a perfect backdrop for the audience to immerse themselves in the spirit of pristine and pious Sufi music. Qawali and ghazals by noted artists enthralled the audience while celebrating the spirit of humanity. The events included Naat, Tilawat, Seerat and Sufi songs performed by young and talented children of the neighbouring areas. Cultural events were interspersed with engaging discussions on Culture, Kashmiriyat and Sufism by prominent scholars. GOC 15 Corps and other army and police officers also participated in this festival. The event witnessed enthusiastic response and large participation by the people and with large number of tourists in the audience.
