Better air, road connectivity behind tourism growth in North East: Union Tourism Secretary

Agartala (Tripura), Nov 24 (ANI): Union Tourism Secretary Rashmi Verma talked about growing tourism in the North Eastern region. She said that better air and road connectivity can be given credit for boosting tourism in the region. She also said that foreign tourists prefer the region as experiential tourism. She said, “Last year, foreign tourists’ arrivals grew at a faster pace than national level and that was about 16.7 percent growth we had in the northeast. In terms of domestic arrivals, growth was 22.8 percent. Lot of credit can be given to air connectivity.”
