Rameswaram (TN), Nov 02 (ANI): Christians in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram gathered at cemeteries to pray for the departed souls to mark All Souls’ Day. Relatives and friends of the deceased were seen lighting candles, incense sticks and placing flowers on the graves of their loved ones. Christians remember the souls of those who are caught in purgatory, undergoing a process of purification before entering heaven. All Souls’ Day is primarily a Catholic holy day, it is also observed by the other Orthodox Church, the Anglican Church and a few other Protestant denominations.
