Congress slams BJP for ‘grandstanding Manohar Parrikar’s health’ for power

Panaji (Goa), Nov 17 (ANI): Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala held a presser in Goa addressing the issues faced by the state owing to the ignorance by the ruling party over an ailing leader. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who suffers from pancreatic cancer became a bone of contention as Congress attacked BJP saying that they should tend to the ailing CM’s health rather than trying to hold onto power by one way or the other. Addressing mediapersons, Surjewala said, “In an unprecedented and disturbing move, the BJP which usurped power in Goa through backdoor and machinations held a meeting of the ministers of the cabinet in AIIMS in Delhi on 10th October. This has never happened before in the history of Goa. On October 31, 2018 official handle of Goa CM posted a picture of a cabinet meeting. People of Goa and elsewhere were deeply disturbed by the visual in the picture. It reflects that Shri Parrikar needs emergent medical attention, rather than the grandstanding done by BJP vis-a-vis his health for clinging to power in some fashion.”
