Devotees offer prayers at Dwarkadhish Temple on Govardhan Puja

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 08 (ANI): Devotees offered prayers at the Dwarkadhish Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Thursday on the occasion of Govardhan Puja. They made the silhouette of Lord Krishna using cow dung cakes, as part of tradition. Govardhan Puja also known as ‘Annakoot Puja’ is a Hindu festival worshipping Lord Krishna. According to mythology, Govardhan Puja commemorates the day when Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill to prevent Lord Indra, the rain god, from causing havoc on his subjects through heavy showers.
