Amritsar (Punjab), Nov 08 (ANI): Nihangs, the Sikh warriors, performed martial arts on the occasion of Badi Chhor Divas. According to Sikh history, on this day, Guru Hargobind was released from prison by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, who freed 52 other Hindu kings with him. As per history and traditions, Nihang army men are considered to be sons of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Devan. The Nihangs have historically been held in great affection and respect by Sikhs due the pivotal role they have played in the Sikh history and the Sikh military history in particular.
