Number of calls reporting accidents due to fireworks increased from last year: Delhi Fire Services Director

New Delhi, Nov 08 (ANI): The number of calls reporting accidents due to fireworks on this Diwali were more than last year, despite Supreme Court’s 22-hour ban on bursting firecrackers, informed Delhi Fire Services Director GC Mishra. Delhi Fire Services received a total of 271 calls reporting incidents of mishaps due to fireworks on this Diwali. GC Mishra said, “During the peak hour, from 8 pm to 12 pm, we recieved 125 calls. We had to attend calls in every two minutes. SC ban did not have much impact. Call rate this year was more than last year.”
