PM Modi holds meeting with newly-elected Maldivian President

Male (Maldives), Nov 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with newly-elected Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih after his swearing-in ceremony on Saturday. Solih became the 7th President of the Maldives and the country’s third democratically elected president, following Mohamed Nasheed and Abdulla Yameen. PM Modi’s visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with Maldives. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the South Asian country. The last Indian Prime Minister to Maldives was in November 2011 by Manmohan Singh.
