Punjab police busts ISI terror module in Patiala

Mohali (Punjab), Nov 2: Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Service Intelligence, was exposed yet again as Punjab Police arrested Shabnamdeep Singh, 24, of Samana sub-division, from Lahori Gate in Patiala. The police also recovered a hand grenade, a pistol, letter pads belonging to a banned terror organisation and a motorcycle from Singh, who is associated with the Khalistan Gadar Force. Singh was also carrying out operations for the ISI-funded Sikh for Justice, a pro-Khalistan organization. The arrested terrorist was planning to attack police stations and crowded places during the ongoing festive season. “During interrogation, the accused confessed that he planned to target Patiala’s Inter-state Bus Terminal (ISBT) and nearby locations,” said Patiala SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu. This is not the first time though that Punjab police has busted a Khalistani module. Last month as well, the police had thwarted a major campaign to disturb communal peace and harmony in the state. Back then, two members of a Khalistani module, allegedly engaged in propagating the Khalistani Referendum 2020 campaign by affixing banners and posters at public places in Amritsar, were arrested. The duo, Sukhraj Singh alias Raju and Malik Singh alias Meetu, confessed of receiving money through illegal channels by Sikh for Justice. Sukhraj, who had no job or business, has told the police that he was associated with Sikh for Justice for the past one year and had put up their posters at various places like Chheharta, Alpha One Mall and Putlighar. For this, he was being paid instalments of 25,000-50,000 rupees, and had so far received two lakh rupees. Sikh for Justice, who have been failing terribly to garner any support for their anti-India referendum 2020 on foreign soil, have now focused their attention on the youth and the unemployed of the country to carry out their already failed propaganda. But just like Referendum 2020 turned out to be a farce, Punjab police have busted all their plans and further exposed them and their agendas.
