Raikot (Punjab), Nov 11 (ANI): Despite a prohibition on the burning of farm residue, farmers in Ludhiana’s Raikot continued to burn stubble. Stubble burning in neighbouring states combined with localised factors in Delhi such as vehicular emissions, industrial pollution and smoke from firecrackers around Diwali every year plague the national capital’s air quality every year. According to the System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index of Delhi on Sunday was recorded at major pollutant PM 2.5 is at 269, ‘severe’ and PM 10 at 410, ‘Very Poor’.
