BJP’s ‘law-violation programme’ protests turn violent in WB’s Basirhat

Basirhat (West Bengal), Dec 24 (ANI): Clash broke out between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and police in Basirhat of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district on Monday. Protests were over a ‘law-violation programme’ of BJP which turned violent. Police resorted to baton-charge after they failed to pacify the BJP supporters. Police tried to disperse the crowd after the protestors started pelting stones. Several were reported injured on both sides. The BJP has been organising ‘law-violation programme’ in various parts of the state to protest against the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) decision to not allow its proposed rath yatras.
