Samba (J&K), Dec 30 (ANI): Like every year, devotees from neighbouring states and within, have flooded the Narsingh Temple in the Ghagwal area of Samba district to be a part of the annual ‘Rath Khada Mela’ in Jammu & Kashmir. The Hindu fair, being celebrated for the last 1500 years, sees participation of people mostly from the hilly areas. Vendors from different parts of the country also visit the fair to sell their products.
The event marks the end of longer nights and brings lengthy days after it, said Ritu Mahajan, SDM, Ghagwal. “The elderly believes that it [the fair] is celebrated because during this time, length of days and nights become equal,” she added.
