New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): To facilitate easy travel for devotees visiting Rameshwaram, the Central government has approved Rameshwaram-Dhanushkodi railway project. For this purpose, the government will lay down a new broad gauge railway line connecting Rameshwaram to Dhanushkodi. The gauge is believed to be the starting point of Ram Sethu. The project will be worth Rs 208 crore comprising of a 17-km line. Apart from this, the government will also construct a new bridge in addition to already existing Pamban Bridge. The pull, connecting Mandapam to Rameshwaram, will be automatic vertical-lift which would allow movement of ships from under it. Dhanushkodi railway station was destroyed in 1964’s cyclone and was left abandoned
