Surat (Gujarat), Dec 31 (ANI): Small lit up huts, dazzling in colorful lights… The whole area crowded with people… and sparkling crackers lighting up the night sky. Having such a wedding would be a dream of every girl. So making this dream a reality for thousands of girls, a Surat based diamond merchant, Mahesh Savani every year organises a regal mass wedding ceremony, where hundreds of fatherless girls are wedded off. Savani has been doing this since 2010 and this year he funded the wedding of around 261 girls in which six were Muslim, three Christian and 45 were from different Hindu castes. All the girls were not just married as per their respective rituals, but Savani himself visited each and every pandal and did their Kandyadaan like a father. No matter which religion or community they belong too, Savani gave his blessings to all the, who too consider him as their father, setting a great example of religious unity to the society.
