Killer jumbo captured & relocated in Coimbatore

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Dec 19 (ANI): A 30-year-old wild jumbo, locally called as ‘Vinayaka’, was captured and relocated to Mudumalai forest range in Coimbatore. The wild tusker has so far killed four persons in the outskirts of Coimbatore. He was captured by the Coimbatore forest department using four trained Kumki elephants. The elephant was captured after rigorous efforts of 10 hours. Speaking to ANI, Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) of Coimbatore circle Deepak Srivastava said, “The elephant killed 4 people and destroyed many crops. We successfully darted it and will relocate it to Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.”
