NDRF conducts rescue operation at coal mine in East Jaintia Hills

Jaintia Hills (Meghalaya), Dec 22 (ANI): Water level in a flooded mine in Meghalaya receded a few inches on Friday, holding out a sliver of hope for the survival of the more than dozen men who have been trapped inside the illegal coal mine since December 13 without any food and water. Today, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team reached the coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills, where 13 workers are trapped since more than a week. Search and rescue operation is still underway. Rescue efforts continued for the ninth day in the mine in East Jaintia Hills.
