Nagpur (Maharashtra), Dec 29 (ANI): Indian Railways is planning to use a robot powered by artificial intelligence to monitor any faults and report it to the engineers. The robot named Under-gear Surveillance Through Artificial Intelligence Assisted Droid or USTAAD, is equipped with high definition cameras and various types of sensors which will help in monitoring parts of the coaches and detect faults such as hot axle, under gear defect, brake binding and transmit the information to the authorities in real time. The robot will be controlled by engineers sitting in control room through an app. The robot has been developed by mechanical branch of Central Railway’s Nagpur division.
