East Jaintia Hills (Meghalaya), Dec 21 (ANI): Operations are underway to rescue 13 miners trapped in an illegal coal mine in Ksan village in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills for more than a week. The district administration has asked the government to provide required equipments for rescue operations. District Commissioner FM Dopth said, “We are here with NDRF, SDRF and Civil Defence teams. There is water in shaft, trying to pump out water, without that it’s difficult to rescue miners.” An illegal coal mine full of water at Ksan in Saipung area collapsed on December 13.
