Srinagar’s Dal Lake freezes partially due to decreasing mercury

Srinagar (J&K), Dec 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) Srinagar recorded the coldest night in 11 years as the minimum temperature plunged to minus 6.8 degrees Celsius, resulting in partial freezing of the Dal Lake today. The all-time low recorded in the month of December in Srinagar was minus 12.8 degrees Celsius on December 13, 1934.The valley experiences sub-zero temperature. Dal Lake is the second largest lake in the state. Severe cold waves continued in J&K due to decreasing mercury. Dal Lake is an integral for tourism and recreation in Kashmir
