Junagarh (Gujarat), Dec 19 (ANI): Three lions were mowed down by a goods train in Gir forest in Gujarat’s Junagarh late on Monday night. The incident took place at Borala village that falls under Gir (East) forest division in Amreli district. The incident comes around two months after 23 Asiatic lions died in a small pocket of Gir (East) forest in September. The railway track on which the accident took place connects Pipavav port to Surendranagar junction. While speaking to ANI on this incident, Divisional Railway Manager of Bhavnagar Roopa Srinivasan said, “We drive vehicles very safely and we keep on interacting with the trackers of forest department and they also keep on intimating us. In such circumstances automatically the speed of the train gets slowed down. Caution order is also imposed in such situations in that area.”
