Mumbai, Dec 26 (ANI): Members of the Transgender community protested against the Transgender Persons Bill, 2018 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Wednesday. Several protests have been staged across the country since the details of the bill were made public. Vicky Shinde, a member of transgender community, said that, “Lord Rama gave us right to bless people during occasions of happiness, it’s not begging but it’s criminalized under this bill. If you can’t provide us employment don’t take our livelihood away, I urge Prime Minister to stop this bill.” The Lok Sabha on December 17 passed the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2018.
