Guwahati (Assam), Dec 04 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Assam’s Guwahati, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh said that, “Without priority areas we want to give a huge boost to the Bamboo industry in the Northeast area which I had mentioned in the prior session as well. More than 60 percent of the Bamboo is grown in Northeast and in the last 3-4 years the awareness about it has spread across the nation.”
“Its use and applications are now being entertained and accepted by people living in different parts of the country whether it is in the form of furniture, construction or anything else” he added.
“We have allocated substantial amount. They have made a profit of Rs 53 lakh in the north eastern corporation. Now, we have also modified the entire procedure and there is much transparency in the government work as compared to the earlier times” he further stated.
