Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec 19 (ANI): Eighth intra-university youth festival ‘Sonzal’ began in Kashmir University. The authorities of Kashmir University organise nine days long festival to boost the cultural and traditional activities among the youth. Such festivals provide students a proper platform to show their caliber in art, culture and traditional activities. ‘Sonzal’, which means rainbow, makes youth aware about the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. In last few years the youth festival has received a tremendous response from the various departments of university and other colleges of Kashmir. Students participated in different activities including folk music, light music, cultural songs, paintings, photography, and quiz competitions. One of the student said, “There are very few platforms in Kashmir through which the youth of the state can showcase their talent. So, students get opportunity to perform in such youth festivals.”
