2 dead & 4 critical after consuming ‘prasad’ at temple in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur

Chikkaballapur (Karnataka), Jan 27 (ANI): After consuming ‘prasad’ served at the Sri Gangamma temple in Chintamani of Chikkaballapur district at Karnataka on January 25, another death takes the death toll up to two. Four people are in critical condition. A woman, who worked as a cook at a hotel, has been taken into custody. Case is registered in this regard. The reason behind mixing poison in the prasad is yet to be ascertained. Last night this incident took place at Sri Ramanagara town. Chintamani City Police has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against accused under section 304A, 338, 38R/W. They have taken her into custody for further investigation. Preliminary investigation suggests that she cooked kesaribath as prasad and was serving it outside the temple premises.
