New Delhi/Kolkata (WB),Jan 29 (ANI): Politics has taken a violent turn in West Bengal ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and to add fuel to fire, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and ruling Trinamool Congress traded charges over vehicle vandalism during BJP president Amit Shah’s speech in East Midnapore on Tuesday. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra in a press briefing accused TMC chief and state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the incident. “Democracy is being killed in West Bengal. It is very unfortunate that that BJP’s buses were vandalized and burned by TMC’s goons. They are pelting stones and police is watching. BJP workers were beaten up brutally. This is the real face of Mamata Banerjee,” he said. Whereas countering the argument, TMC leader Madan Mitra said, “The beginning of the end of BJP has already started. It has started only from Bengal. BJP hired hooligans from outside who ransacked the vehicles. BJP has no issue but only accuse TMC. This is just a camouflage because all their meetings are getting flopped.”
