Imphal (Manipur), Jan 11 (ANI): Several persons were injured in clashes between students and police over the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Manipur’s Imphal today. Protesters clashed with police at Khwairamband Nupi Keithel. Citizenship bill protests turned violent and students took out march condemning the passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The bill, which seeks to grant Indian citizenship to six minority groups from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, has met with stiff resistance across the northeast.
