Jallikattu: Bull-taming event enters final day

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Jan 17 (ANI): Temple bulls have entered for worship through the Vadivasal (the bull-entering point) early morning for the bull-taming event Jallikattu in Madurai’s Alanganallur. Jallikattu, which commenced on January 15 will end today. It is a traditional bull taming festival where participants in a brazen show of masculinity try to dominate the bulls running recklessly on the field. Also known as ‘Eruthazhuvuthal’, Jallikattu is a bull-taming sport played across Tamil Nadu as a part of Pongal celebrations on Mattu Pongal day.
