Quota bill will give relief to people with annual income less than Rs 8 lakhs: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Tuesday hailed the Union Government’s approval to 10 percent reservation for economically backward sections of general category. “This quota will give great relief to people who have annual income less than Rs 8 lakhs. Crores of young people will be benefited by this reservation in education and jobs. The reservation of 50 percent for SC, ST and OBCs remains unaffected due to this decision. As far as merit is concerned, it has been decided to reserve 10 percent seats in education which will not affect meritorious students.” The Union Cabinet had approved the bill on January 7 and the bill was tabled in the Parliament today.
