Suspension of MISA pensions: This move hits specially-abled who was jailed for 19 months

Bhopal (MP), Jan 03 (ANI): As the new Madhya Pradesh government under Chief Minister Kamal Nath decided to suspend pensions of people arrested during Emergency, specially-abled Mohammed Laeeq, one of the MISA detainees, criticised the government move saying, “I Can’t work, can’t walk now. If the government benefits from it then we don’t mind begging.” Laeeq had spent around 20 months in jail during the Emergency period. The Kamal Nath government has decided to hold the pensions of MISA detainees until the verification of beneficiaries is done. Laeeq also said that his medical bill is very expensive and the latest decision of the MP government will hit him further. Laaeq was also given an honorarium by the previous BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.
