VP Naidu visits ‘Statue of Unity’, says always felt need to pay tribute to Sardar Patel

Kevadiya (Gujarat), Jan 20 (ANI): Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday visited the grand ‘Statue of Unity’ in which was inaugurated in October last year. Speaking on his visit, the Vice President said that since his school days he felt that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel did not get his due credit in Indian history and was grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this massive monument. Located on Sadhu-Bet Island, Gujarat, the 182-metre tall statue occupies over 20,000 square meters, and is surrounded by a 12 square km artificial lake. The structure has the accolade of being the tallest statue in the world. He also visited the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat Complex’ after visiting the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Gujarat.
