Government school in Amritsar treads unique path to educate children

Majitha (Punjab), Feb 08: Taking education beyond four walls of the classroom, and making learning fun for students, a government school in Majitha village of Amritsar has gone an extra mile in bring this method into action. The school has constructed its own educational park, where students are taught by giving practical demonstrations. Key elements of syllabus have been painted on the walls of the park. Ranging from biology diagrams to grammar terms, each and every topic of almost all the subjects is covered in the park. Mona Kaur, the principal of the school who conceived this remarkable idea was supported by all her staff to realise her dream of having such a facility inside her school. Constructed at the cost of Rs. 2.6 lakh, each of the academic staff has contributed a significant amount to make it a possibility. Even an accidental glance at the walls during a leisure walk can help pupil in improving their knowledge. Students have on record testified the park’s fruitfulness. This voluntary and thoughtful step aimed at moulding the future of the students in the right direction is not only challenging the conventional education system but also been inspiring others to tread the path of creativity. It is not just the people like Mona Kaur and her colleagues working tirelessly for the future of the children but both state and the central governments through integrated efforts have been trying to take the level of education at par with the global standards.
