Paramilitary forces had to be deployed for safety of CBI officers: Smriti Irani expresses shock over state of WB

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday criticised the handling of the CBI officers, who came to Kolkata to question Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and said it was the first time that “paramilitary forces had to be deployed” for the protection of CBI officers from state police. “The fact that paramilitary forces had to be deployed for the protection of those officers, who were diligently doing their duty, is for the first time an unprecedented view given to the citizen with regards to the state of anarchy in the West Bengal,” Irani told media outside the Parliament.
