Seemanchal Express derailment: Death toll reaches 7

Vaishali (Bihar), Feb 03 (ANI): Lalit Chandra Trivedi, General Manager (GM) of East Central Railway (ECR) updated that almost 7 lives were lost and over 15 injured in the Seemanchal Express derailment in Bihar’s Vaishali. A total of 11 coaches were affected in the Jogbani-Anand Vihar Terminal Seemanchal Express derailment. Of which 3 coaches capsized. Amongst the dead, 3 have been identified to be residents of Bengal, 3 from Khagaria, while one is still unidentified. Bihar government has announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to the kins of the deceased. Rs 50 thousand will be awarded to the injured passengers. NDRF teams are still conducting combing operations.
