Jaipur (Rajasthan), July 22 (ANI): The government of Rajasthan is committed to make it an energy-surplus state. It highlighted its ambitions and projects in the recently presented budget. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced a large number of initiatives to be taken in coming time.Significant features of the budget included an additional 6000 MW generation of power through traditional sources in next seven years. Harnessing 1426 MW wind energy and 4885 MW solar energy in next 5 yearsEstablishing 600 MW solar plants on abandoned land of farmersWith an expenditure of 2,338 crore, a 765 KV substation will be established in Jodhpur and subsequently three 220KV and thirteen 132 KV substations will be established.The Chief Minister also promised to provide one lakh new agriculture connections in the coming year.Under Kusum scheme, the government will provide solar pump sets to farmers Rs.5, 200 crore have been sanctioned for the establishment of feeders for agriculture connections in next four years. The government also plans to have 600 new transformers on 33 KV sub stations in 3 years and Smart meters will be installed on 80,000 distribution transformers in urban areas.
