CM Gehlot appeals for additional financial support from 15th Central Finance Commission

Jaipur (Rajasthan), September 10 (ANI): In a meeting with 15th Central Finance Commission in Jaipur, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot urged the commission to provide adequate financial support to the state in view of contrasted geographical and social situation, limited resources and future requirements. Chief Minister requested to allocate additional resources for the drinking water and irrigation, health, education, roads, energy, information technology and also for development of tourism in the state. In the meeting CM Gehlot also underlined that despite of increased pressure on treasury due to social security schemes, seventh pay scale, UDAY scheme and debt waiver, the state government has substantially complied with the FRBM Act, which shows the efficient financial management of the Government. CM strongly advocated the interests of the state and hoped that the commission would recommend substantial increase in the resources after assessing the special circumstances of the Rajasthan.
