From, designing the structure to the final painting of the effigy-parts, everything is done by them. Making these effigies require a lot of dexterity as one has to assemble the large parts together and plant the fire crackers inside them, but these artisans do every piece of work with immense devotion. This time these artisans are making a 65 ft. tall effigy of Ravana. Few artisans say that it’s their ancestral work which they are carrying forward. As Dussehra marks end of Ravana and commemorates the victory of god over evil, a similar message is spread by these Muslim artisans as well, who for years have been destroying the Ravana of hatred and violence and promoting peace and communal harmony in the society.
