Indian Coast Guard saves Chinese national in Arabian Sea

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully evacuated a Chinese national from a research vessel in the Arabian Sea on the intervening night of August 16 and 17. The patient, Yin Weigyang, suffered a cardiac arrest and required urgent medical attention.

The ICG received information about the incident from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Mumbai. A helicopter was immediately dispatched to the vessel, which was around 200 kilometers off the coast of Mumbai. The patient was airlifted to the helicopter and given first aid. He was then transferred to the agent of the vessel for further medical care.

The operation was carried out in challenging weather conditions and at night. However, the ICG was able to successfully evacuate the patient and save his life.
