India and the U.S. Strengthen Defense Innovation Ties at INDUS-X Summit

New Delhi – The highly anticipated INDUS-X Summit kicks off today in New Delhi, marking a crucial step forward in the evolving defense collaboration between India and the United States. The two-day event promises to forge new strategic technology partnerships and bolster existing defense industrial cooperation between the two nations.

Organized by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S.-India Business Council, and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), the summit emerges as a direct result of the India-U.S. Defence Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X). This initiative was launched in June 2023 during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s State Visit to the U.S.

The INDUS-X Summit brings together key stakeholders from both countries, including government officials, academic and research institutions, investors, defense start-ups, technology incubators, and industry associations. Participants will explore emerging opportunities through panel discussions, workshops, senior leaders forums, and joint challenge winner felicitations.

A highlight of the summit will be the recognition of the Joint INDUS-X challenge winners under the IMPACT initiative. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both nations to pushing the boundaries of defense innovation.

The INDUS-X Summit stands as a testament to the deepening U.S.-India defense ties. It paves the way for potential game-changing technological advancements, fosters strategic partnerships, and strengthens cross-national science and technology networks. Beyond defense, the summit is predicted to positively impact innovation ecosystems across India and the U.S. through connections between entrepreneurs, markets, skilling institutions, government labs, and crucial investment sources.
