Following Super 30 pattern GNDU to train rural students for IIT entrance exams

Guru Nanak Dev University will train rural students for admissions to the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and the state government has given its approval to open a centre at Khalsa College Public School for the purpose. Addressing the media, GNDU Vice-Chancellor Dr A S Brar said the chief minister took a personal interest and gave in principle approval to start the project. A grant of about Rs 1.40 crore has also been released. The initiative is taken on the pattern of Bihar , where an NGO, run by some professionals, impart coaching to bright students from economically backward sections. “The arrangements have resulted in a number of students from lower strata of society to crack the IIT entrance test,” the VC said.
