CIMP marching forward for Rural Bihar Development

CIMP, Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna has recently developed a model for ensuring overall development of rural Bihar using IT (Information Technology) based tools. It is expected to setup Rural Knowledge Centers in different parts of the state.

It harnesses solar power togethered with Information Technology and Cloud Computing to improve nutrition , health care system, education and other facilities necessary for better and improved sustainability in rural parts of the state.

In the beginning it has adopted two vilages in Bihar Dharhar Jamania (in Purnia district) and Thumma (in Sitamarhi district) for the demonstration of the model.
These villages have been provided with RKC, equipped with different e-service delivery points fit for a wide array of applications in education, communication, agriculture services, e-governance, entertainment, community/religion along with professional services. The people of the villages would be educated through virtual classrooms likely to be set up soon.

If things go as expected, this model would be extended to 20 more villages in the second phase and about 100 more villages would be connected thereafter. Kids of all the IT-enabled villages would be made computer-savvy so that they do not have to face the problem of unemployment.
CIMP has also been recently awarded a big project for evaluating the various social development plans implemented by the National Coconut Development Board.
