Election Commission of India has  issued the notification for the presidential election to be held on July 19. The last day for filing nominations is June 30 while candidates can withdraw their nominations by July 4.
The UPA on Friday announced Pranab Mukherjee as its candidate after a day of hectic political drama.
It remains to be seen if he gets selected as a consensus candidate or the other two names that are doing the rounds, Abdul Kalam and PA Sangama, decide to enter the fray.
If they do, there will be elections on July 19.
