According to the complaint filed by Girl’s Father,  Pabitra Mondal  a teacher named Rupali, of Gopalnagar Giribala Balika Vidyalaya  stripped and searched his daughter  in the presence of  whole class. It was said that the Girl had stolen money from a Classmate.
An FIR has been lodged in this case in Sub Divisional Police Station. “Rupali Dey was arrested Saturday morning. She has been booked for strip searching a class 8 student,” a police officer said.The teacher allegedly strip searched the 13-year-old girl following an allegation that she was hiding Rs.50
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jayanta Mukherjee said a case under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage modesty) and section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC were lodged against the teacher.
In a similar incident, another Class 8 girl at Derokrishna Banitirtha Balika Vidyalaya in Haldia in East Midnapore was asked to disrobe and use her uniform to wipe out the water which she had spilled on the floor.
However, according to the girl, she had not spilled the water. She said her principal Sandhya Jana had ordered her to disrobe and had even beat her up.
The girl fell sick after coming home and her family members lodged a complaint with the school’s managing committee Friday.
However, Jana denied the allegation. Â Meanwhile, Higher Education Minister Bratya Basu has ordered probe into both incidents.
