Earthquake in North Eastern India, tremors felt in 5 States

North East India felt a mild Earthquake of magnitude over 5.0 today afternoon around 3 PM. No reports of Death or Damages has surfaced up.

According to the Regional Seismological Centre Guwahati, the epicentre was in Tezpur, the district headquarters of Sonitpur in Assam.

Besides Meghalaya and Nagaland, the other states where the tremors were felt included Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

India’s northeast is considered the sixth major earthquake-prone belt in the world.
