Parliament Employee beaten in a Road Rage Incident

New Delhi: A 53-year-old senior executive assistant, working at the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, was beaten up in a road-rage incident here. The accused was arrested from the spot.

Bhawani Shankar Sharma, resident of south Delhi’s Nauroji Nagar, was beaten up by a motorcylist near Nauroji Nagar bus stop Friday around 7 p.m.

“The accused, identified as Sanjay Kumar Sharma, was arrested from the spot after passers-by informed police,” said a police officer.

Bhawani was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where doctors said that his shoulder had been dislocated.

“The accused flew into a rage after Bhawani’s car bumped into his motorcycle from behind. He dragged the victim out of his car and beat him up,” said the officer.

Earlier on Oct 24, 47-year-old Wing Commander Arjun Sen, who was returning to the air force station in Rajokri from Ambience Mall in Gurgaon with his family, was beaten up by four people on National Highway-8 when he shouted at the accused for hitting his car from behind.

The same day a cab driver, Gulab Singh, was beaten up on the same stretch by four men travelling in a car when the victim protested after they hit his cab from behind.

Central Road Research Institute technician Sunil Kumar and his teenaged son Puneet were beaten with a baton in another case of road rage in west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar Oct 24.
