Indian Railways have announced several Holi Special Trains in order to minimize the Rush during the festival. But the number and frequency of these trains are very less, which confirms that the Rush wont be affected by the introduction of these trains.
East Central Railways has introduced one train between Patna and New Delhi.
Train No: 04022, New Delhi -Patna
Dates: 21, 24 and 28 March
Train No: 04021, Patna – New Delhi
Dates: 22, 25 and 31st March
The Train will leave Patna at 14:10 Â and reach New Delhi at 10:40 next day. In Return trip, it will leave New Delhi on 13:20 and reach Patna at 11:10 next Day.
The Train will also halt at Buxar, Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Bareily, Muradabad and Ghazaibad.
Darbhanga-Bangalore Holi Special
The train will depart Darbhanga at 4.15 pm on March 30 and arrive Bangalore at 8.55 pm on Monday. In the return direction, the train will depart Bangalore at 10.10 am on April 2 and arrive Darbhanga at 2.15 pm Thursday. Enroute, the trains will stop at Barauni, Patna, Danapur, Ara, Mughalsarai, Jabalpur, Vijayawada, Gudur, Chennai Central and Bangalore Cantonment.
02393/2394 Â Patna – New Delhi Holi Special
Thos train will run between Patna and Anand Vihar terminal. This train will leave Patna on March 30,31 and April 1 at about 8:00 pm and arrive at Ara at 8:53 pm, Buxar at 9:47 pm, Mughalsarai at 10:30 pm, Allahabad at 2:20 am, Kanpur at 5:30 am and finally terminate at Anand Vihar terminal at 1:15 pm. During the return journey, this train will leave Anand Vihar Terminal at 6:35 pm on March 31 and April 1, 2 and arrive at Kanpur at 00:55 am, Allahabad at 3:45 am, Mughalsarai at 6:20 am, Buxar at 7:53 am, Ara at 8:51 am and finally terminate at Patna at 10:00 am.
03253/03254 Patna Pune Holi Special
This Train will run between Patna and Pune. This train will depart from Patna on March 30 at about 11:35 pm and go through the route of Ara, Buxar, Mughalsarai, Mirzapur and reach Chheoki at 5:54 pm and finally proceed through the route of Satna, Katni, jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopergaon, Belapur, Ahmadnagar, Daund and finally arrive at Pune next day at 7:30 pm. During the return journey, this train will depart from Pune on April 1 at about 6:00 am and after passing through the above route will finally terminate at Patna next day at 3:30 pm.
 03255/3256 Patna Mumbai Holi Special
Train number 03255/3256 will run between Patna and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). This train will depart from at about 11:35 pm and go through the route of Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Mughalsarai, Mirzapur and reach Chheoki at 5:54 pm and finally proceed through the route of Satna, Katni, jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Nasik Road, Igatpuri, Kalyan, Thane and finally terminate at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).
Another Holi Special  Train between  Chandigarh to Varanasi has also been introduced, the details of its trip is not known.
Konkan Railways have introduced Holi Special Trains between Mumbai and Pernem.
Train No. 01017 will depart from Lokmanyna Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 12.55am and will arrive at Pernem at 12 noon on the same day. The train will operate on March 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30. In return trip, Â Train No. 01018 will depart from Pernem at 1.10pm and arrive at LLT at 12.20 am the next day; and will operate on March 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30.
